Tony's exterior cabinet (was Re: What did you do to your coach today)

I had an aluminum compartment added to the empty space behind the last compartment door on drivers side by a local fabrication shop for more storage especially since I am getting ready to go full time in December. Not to difficult a project for them to add, especially with the extra space since removing the muffler with the resonator upgrade!

Cabinet has room to store my tools, well most, from the center compartment giving me extra room for other stuff!

It has a shelf above to keep some extra filters, plus all the cables needed for hooking up the toad in a sturdy canvas Husky tool bag I bought at Home depot.

posted some pictures of the 1/4" aluminum cabinet a friends metal shop  fabricated 2 weeks ago in the compartment behind the drivers side door at the rear of the coach. today I added some non slip material on the lower and shelf floor. I will use to carry the tow car cables, extra filters and some of my tools.

Prior owner had FT install storage in the same location. When I bought the coach I had FT put an airchuck in it and then I added a reel with 50' of air hose. Works out great.

Tony, I purchased an inexpensive cord reel from Home Depot and installed it in the bay and added a good quality air hose. It easily reach's all corners of the coach and toad.

Hi Don,
Sorry I Missed your post, to answer your question the box was welded together before installed and they welded 2 bars to the inside side then welded the shelf on top.

Thanks Tony,
That is one strong box! I think I will make the back of ours removable to make it easy to take a peek at tranny area.

Installed the new smoke, LP and CO detectors that I had ordered. I put the old smoke in the bedroom because it was still working and was newer than the others.

Got me thinking, has anyone installed a smoke detector in their storage or utility bays??
