Detectors may need replacing (was Re: What did you do to your coach today)

Ordered a replacement LP detector on Amazon because ours started going off in the wee hours of the morning making for an unpleasant wake-up.

After 10 years my Carbon Monoxide detector started beeping so we replaced it with one from Amazon also. Since I was ordering it I ordered a replacement Smoke detector and installed both yesterday. I noticed it takes 10 minutes to warm up before green light stops blinking.

I was going to replace the CO detector too but mine looks newer than the propane detector and the light on it indicates it's still okay so I think I will pull it and check the date to se if it's past it's recommended life span.
I also am going to pick up a couple of battery powered CO's from Home Depot just to have good coverage. Usually you can smell propane but carbon monoxide much harder to detect before it gets you.

Very smart!  Recommended replacement is after 7 years for both LP and CO detectors.  Smoke detectors are typically 10 years, but for the relative inexpensive investment, we replaced all 3 of ours at the same time a couple of years ago.  Simpler to have all 3 on the same replacement schedule :)
