Mini Air regulator on step and one on slide replace

OK Today left Hill City, SD.  Got ready to leave and noticed air releasing on the right front.  crawl under and it was coming out of the air reg at top which is either for step or slide.  Duck taped and put on ties to cut down on air leak.  Called FOT//another story. Called MOT and Keith Davis told me what to do.  Stopped in Gillette, Wy at NAPA and picked another regulator part # 90-725.  Must put this on myself, all rv places would not help said booked.  Now in Buffalo, Wy.  Is there any secret to installing this regulator.  Now is the time to repair.  DAN

Dan, if you have a channel lock pliers crimp the hose going into the regulator supply side (or let all the air pressure out of the front tank.  Then replace the regulator using standard tools.  Use a bit of thread tape on the new connections and tighten into place.

Not difficult, but hard to get to if you cannot raise the coach and block it into place before getting under there.

Peter

ps.  These regulators are available anywhere (Lowes, Home Depot, etc.) in where they sell air compressors & parts.

If you let the pressure in the front tank drop down to 50 psi or less the check valve will prevent a blast of air in the face as you remove the old one.  You may have already noticed that the air leak stops at about 50 psi.

Most timely & interesting subject for me too as when I had HWH check out my slide and leveling, they found some air leaks, one was on the rear leveling mainfold (they fixed that), however they also found the two regulators and one air solenoid leaking. The air solenoid is the forward most one, No idea if it is the step or the slide solenoid.  When I get home, I will play.  Had the 1/4" Tee replaced at Sioux Falls on way to Custer at Cummins shop.

Dave:  Cummings in Gillette would not look at it.  But I have it installed and fixing to start engine.  Should this reg be set at about 60 lbs??  Tks DAN

Dan, I replaced this same regulator last week.  No problem, air will leak when you loosen it or you can bleed air off at front tanks. 60 PSI is right setting.

My leaking at both regulators and the forward most solenoid leak slowly, anyway I ordered new OEM replacements from MOT this AM, they should arrive at home about the same time I do.
Question, the forward most solenoid is for the step or the slide ? I am clueless at this Time.
Thanks
