kool-o-matic grill cover

If anyone has changed out their kool-o-matic to different power vent and has a plastic grill cover; I would be interested in buying it. Mine has been damaged so I will use Barry's corrective action. But in the mean time I will continue trying to get one, thanks for all your help as I am always learning new things about my Ft thanks to the generosity of you members. John

I just asked David Flanagan about this today! He says they are not available any more. He suggested they can make a cover out of some flexible insulation and cover it with Ultra Suede. Then attach it with some velcro. Didn't get a price. If I see him again I'll ask.

John, When my Kool o Matic cover cracked up I had DW make a vinyl square, I added velcro to edges and to edge of fan frame and stick it on there when not in use.  I have also seen a cover made from a 16 X 16 piece of flexible Magnetic sign material, cut off the ears and stick it on.

I too have square pieces of heavy duty vinyl  with Velcro around the edges.  Use the heavy duty nylon type not the "fuzzy" stuff.  One is for the vent fan and the other for the shower skylight.  This keeps the heat out of the bathroom on hot, sunny days.  They came with the coach and I believe were made by MCD who made the other shades in the coach.

i was able to get old of the past president of Kool-o-matic, think it was early last year, and got a new grill and insulated grill cover.  He still had some stuff left, but not much.  Can't remember his phone number, but think it might be on Barry's site or on the Wanderlodge forum site.  Found it somewhere.  Like the Kool-o-matic, except it is noisy.  But what exhaust fan isn't?

I believe as of 9/12 he had no more parts.

Saw David Flanagan this morning. Asked for an estimate on a Kool-o-matic fan replacement cover. He said around $100 which is a little more than what Kool-o-matic wanted for the plastic cover IIRC.
