Side camera installation

I'm considering adding side cameras as I have the auto switching capability in the new monitor I installed.  I'm familiar with the little housed cameras that mount on side of coach, but was wondering if anyone had ever installed the small cylindrical cameras in the mirror itself-by having mirrors diamond drilled.  Seems like I've seen it somewhere....

That does sound like a good idea and it would look much better to have them installed in the mirrors.

The only disadvantage I can see is if you are maneuvering through a tight space or gate opening and have to bring in the mirrors, it would be really nice to have the cameras mounted on the sides.

I don't think it would be a good idea, if it is a heated mirror.

I think it would be good to check first if there is enough room for the camera wiring through the mirror arm before drilling any holes.  Sounds like an excellent way to mount the camera though.

I have to say that I had side cameras on my SOB and really never relied on them, but instead used the mirrors.  Just food for thought...

Chuck ; the 06 Phenix we had came out of the box with side  cameras that  were mounted on side of the coach close to where the mirrows are mounted This worked verry well .                            Brad metzger
