new docking light and water pump switchs by door

We like to turn off our water pump when we leave our coach, but sometimes are not sure we remembered, when walking out the door, so we put a water switch / LED next to the door.

Since we were running a wire from the kitchen to the front door, I figured it would be easy to also put a docking light switch by the door.
So now we have two new switches on the front circuit breaker panel.

But to my surprise, I find the docking light switch to be more useful than the water pump switch, because I now turn on the docking lights everytime as I walk outside after dark.

Barry,
The water pump switch has been something we have thought would be real useful. Just like you stated, that is something that we always double check before we leave.  May I ask where did you find a convenient location to tie into the water pump circuit to make it work. This info would help me locate a good place for our tie in.  Where did you run the wiring, did you run it through the basement cable tray then up through the bottom  or through the top cable run then down the windshield post?
Thanks for the info

Pamela & Mike,

Your floor plan is probably different, but for our new water pump door switch, I ran a new multi-wire cable from street-side kitchen under sink area, above floor under street-side couch, under side dash, across front under dash to big circuit breaker panel area. We did not go under floor or above cabinets.

On our coach three wires are needed for water pump switch and LED, which we connected to original under sink water pump switch / LED. One wire connects to LED +, one wire connects to sink water pump wire that goes to relay, third wire goes to ground which can also be picked up at circuit breaker panel area. A curb side sink mayu require connecting to a different water pump switch or to relay directly, because of the need to run a wire across the doorway. Instead of running across doorway, new switch could be on other side of door next to co-pilot seat.

Our original water pump switch and LED is connected to ground. Other side of water pump momentary switch connects a momentary ground to the water pump relay located on bay panel. Relay connects a positive wire to water pump and to other LED wire. All water pump switches can turn on or off pump.

Does this give you enough info to see how to run a wire in your coach? We benefit by not having slides, which would prevent running wires across side of coach.

Barry,
This is good info. We had looked at putting a water pump switch next to the switch that closes the step cover. With your info this has confirmed what we had looked into. Our galley is on the curb  side so we can run our wires along the cable run that is located at the junction of the floor and the side wall. With this there will be no problem to do the tie in.
