Has any one installed a stack washer /dryer

Has any one installed a stack washer /dryer in a Foretravel that has been plumbed for the combo?    Would like some hints.      Ronald Boyd

I own a 95 U320. It came with the combo washer/dryer.
I removed the combo unit and installed a Bosch Axis washer  and dryer. The Bosch dryer is 220v. I had to run a 220v line and outlet to the washer and dryer. If I had to do it over I might have looked into finding a propane fired dryer and not going with the 220v. I can only use the washer/dryer when I have a 50 amp camp ground hook-up. I have not checked but I have wondered if the dryer would work on a 30 amp campground circuit, the dryer pulls 15 amps but I don't know if a 30 amp camp  ground hook up would split the power correctly. I DON'T think (but have not checked) that the generator will  power the 220v circuit.
The Bosch units work well with the 50 amp service, and the washer requires very little water to operate. I have not noticed any trouble drawing water from the fresh water tank or dumping into the grey water tank.They both do a great job and are VERY quite.

I was able to hook the dryer vent to the vent that was installed for the original combo unit with flexible duct hose.

I also had to cut and re-route some of the drain vent pipe so the stacked unit would fit far enough back in the closet.

It was worth the trouble, and with both units separate it was not too bad getting them into the RV. They are made to hook together when you stack them at final install time. The original combo unit was far heavier and difficult to remove from the RV.

The original combo unit still works well. I brought it in the house and still use it for very small loads. Its nice to be able to load it and leave it. It washes and drys so you don't have to go back and transfer laundry from the washer to the dryer. Just load and forget it.

Having the larger and more efficient Bosch units means less clothes you have to bring and if you get into a unexpected mud pit or do some RV crawling its no big deal to throw the dirty stuff into the wash. Nice for when the kids show up too. They are always a mess.

I to am considering the doing the same thing in prepration for full timing, never thought about a gas dryer, with the large propane tank it should work. The generator in my coach is 110V, but as I understand it can be changed to 220V easily.
