Mico lever lock

I was looking at the Mico lever lock (Lever Lock | MICO, Inc.) to supplement my parking brake.

The parking brake on my John Deere chassis can be problematic at times, like at the present. I have not been able to find the parking brake release cable for it. The old one got to close to the exhaust manifold and got fried. The parking brake system has not worked in years, said the PO.

I think this would be a great backup. Has anyone had a experience with one? I think the cable version would work better in my case.

Foretravel used the micro lock on some of the 81, 82 oskosh rear engine diesels that had hydraulic brakes. They keep pressure on your brake system all the time while parked. You might ask Gary Omel about them as his first foretravel had one on it, don't remember if he had any trouble with it. Seems like some people had trouble with them, but has been a lot of years so maybe the memory is not as good as it should be.

The Micro Brake Lock is/was very popular with delivery fleets such as UPS, push brake and flip the lever, your locked.  The down side is if you have a leaking wheel cylinder, it will slowly drain down and off your vehicle can go.  So good for some, maybe not for others when parked for months at a time.
