Master Cut-off Switch

Is it recommended to turn the Master Elect. switch off when you leave the coach for a few hours? I know it is an easy way to turn off all of the lights but I noticed the AuqaHot goes off also. So I guess the hot water would need to be re-heated. This doesn't seam to be very efficeint.
How does everyone else use this switch?

I leave switch on when using coach, even when unattended for a full day or more, I shut off in storage, and plug in to 30amps with charger/inverter on, and trik-l-start keeping my batteries happy.

Always shut of PROPANE to coach in storage, have been known to leave refrigerator on when stored (in electric mode) with propane valve off. Think it keeps the coil from rusting, and have a cold refrigerator when I get to coach - (absorption refers so slow to cool down) And if power goes out, it can't run in propane mode.

Propane works fine, but looking forward to residential fridge in 3 weeks

We almost never use the master switch to shut off the electric, unless the coach is being worked on. It is a handy way to shut all that 12V stuff, though! In our first coach ('93 U225) after leaving the Factory after service, we were heading down the road and I discovered that my seat was no longer adjusting and some other stuff was not working. Oh, no!!  We must have some kind of problem!!  I frantically called James Trianna and asked if we should return to Nacogdoches!  He recommended that I look for the Master Cutoff switch and, sure enough, the techs had forgotten to turn it back on.  That was almost Lesson #1 from Foretravel U.  Lord ... we were SUCH idiots!!  Slightly better now, though.

On my 1st trip, sitting in Houston watching TV from the recliner. I swung around to speak to better half, the TV went off, all the lights went out, except the one over the dining table.
It was late, so just went to bed, will check it tomorrow.
Got out trusty VOM. Batteries are good, battery charger is warm. Had to leave to go to daughters for lunch.
Left wife at daughters and returned to trouble shoot.
It took a couple of hours of checking to find large plastic cover directly under chair in fuel & propane bay with large wires running to it.
Removed cover and discovered large switch.
The loud pop was head being ejected from lower body!!
The switch had been turned off by movement of chair !!!

Under most circumstances, that switch is only turned off by accident on our coach. It turns off a lot of stuff, but not everything. If I want ALL the stuff turned OFF, I pull the negative battery terminals, AND throw a cover over the solar panel.

Check this out for potential winner of the worst placed master switch contest. If you are pretty careful, you can avoid lacerating your forearm most of the time when turning it off and on!
