Bedroom clock

What am I missing?
We're having a ball here at the rally in Brunswick GA along w/ learning more about our new to us '98 320 FT.  However, after searching the archives and Barry's site, I've yet to find out how to dim the bedroom clock which is located under the rear storage compartments.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Bill & Jan

Oh no, I am getting a 98 with the overhead clock next week.  On the U225 being delivered this morning, I have the option of turning off the display only.

Hope you and I get an answer to your question, soon. ;)

On my 2000 there is no way to dim that I am aware of, but display can be entirely shut off, clock and alarm still functioning with display off

Try a crafts store and get some of the tinted plastic sheets. Cut to fit and use however many it takes to "dim" the display. Another alternative: Car window darkening film. Same procedure.

Been there, done that to our large display bedroom digital clock.

Hi Bill, A short piece of masking tape will usually dim the light from that clock.

I knew that you two would enjoy a chapter rally and those two groups that you are with now really are the best.

Here is the video program that Dave Head found for me and helped me set up on the PC to run with the Silverleaf for the rear camera.I should have taken time to dig it out while you were here but all that partying and Jan's fine cooking slowed us down.

The company's name is Hauppauge and the only thing I can give you is the info printed on the face of the program disk.

WinTV.v7 , version 2.4D-SD-SB  This stuff is Dave's world . He's the one that found it for me AND, made it work, so contact him if you want the same set up.

Also, the image on your monitor is very dark and poor . You may want to start with a new color camera. That will solve the reversed image problem on the PC and you can still use the dash monitor for the audit system.

Thanks everyone. I couldn't believe there wasn't a dimmer, but alas, I gave to much credit.  Glad to see they changed it in the early 2000 because we think its a great place to have a clock.

@ Gary, hope you enjoyed the leftover chicken n/ rice.  The meal fell far short of the service you provided us and our coach.  I'll check the info you gave for the rear camera.  You are correct...the OEM is hardly acceptable now days.  Thanks again for all your help.

Hmm...let me see. Purchase a newer coach or use a piece of masking tape. I'm not even going to ask the DW her preference.

On a side note, I asked some of the late '90s owners here at the rally about the clock and got some very interesting information on personel sleeping habits.  Some sleep w/ lights always blazing due to sight issues.  We had a lot of fun with it along with some TMI tidbits.  Also, we always thought these rallys were put together for the interesting sights to be seen or new friends to be made, however it was quickly made apparent its for the food!!! Pat Brewer and crew are amazing.

Best regards ~ Bill & Jan
