Racor Parker 90s1230C prefilter installation

Hi all!

I need to replace the plastic prefilter 300200 as this part is letting air in.
I do have the spare part with the 2 o rings, but I never replaced the filter myself.

Is there somebody out there who can give me some advice about needing more spares when I take this filter apart as I am on the road?

After reading the replacement procedure, it is not clear to me how to remove the Top Block...Is this do-able??

If I fail to put it back together, I am in big trouble!

At the top is a wing type of nut that you turn counter clockwise and then lift up the fitting that has the hose attatched to it and replace the plastic filter and o rings, should be rather straight forward. Don"t be scared. When you get the new filter in place you can hit the air purge to remove the air from the filter. You have to remove the valve stem cap during the air purge and you can use the end of the cap to release the sharder valve to allow the air to come out. Good luck. I am waiting for my new filters to arrive. I ordered 2 so that I will have one for a spare.

Hi there!

The pre filter is supplied with 2 O rings....But do I need additional O rings when replacing this filter?

On the Net some people are warning that 2 more are needed with a different size, not supplied with the 300200 filter.

They are talking about the win/racor filter....could be a completely different filter......

Ok, this is the outcome...removed the prefilter and..it was damaged at the top, oval iso round intake.
Reason: there are 2 additional O rings at the top and bottom, seated INSIDE the metal. And have a different size!
The top O ring dislodged and was sticking between the intake of the filter and the housing...
I managed to use the damaged seal again (no spare, ofcourse) and all is fine again.

Pevious browsing on the Net revealed: O ring size that comes with filter: Size 208.
Extra O rings needed:  Size 114 Aero Space Stand Sizing 568B(nitrile)

But beter check this info and make sure you got the 2 extra O rings before removing filter!
