Front Hub Window

In order to be able to see the oil level in the front hubs without removing the hubcap I decided to make a see through hubcap.  To do this I drilled a 2 1/2 inch hole in the hubcap and then made two circular disks from 1/4 inch plexiglas, one 3 inches for the outside and 3 1/2 inches for the inside (See picture).  I then used a small bolt through the centers to pull them together (See picture).  I plan to use clear silicone to seal the disks so water will not enter.  Time will tell if this works and if there is a problem it can easily be changed.  Any other suggestions on sealing the disks to the hubcap so they could still be removed would be welcomed.
