Cell Antenna

Finally decided on a cell antenna. Ended up with a Wilson Omni Shorty. I replaced the back nmo with the Shorty through-the-roof model.

I ran the cable through the over-the-bed compartment and down into the bedside cabinet. There, I installed a 12 volt cigarette lighter plug for the mifi and an amplifier if we decide we need one. The cables run down behind an access panel so they're not visible in the overhead compartment.

With the cabinet door closed, the mifi (4620) produces a good 4 bar signal throughout the rig, except for one spot on the driver's side couch where it drops to two which is still good.

Hi Jor, just wondering if you were able to use the existing 'through the roof' connection for your new antenna; or did you need to extract/replace the existing connection.

Grant, I removed the NMO mount and drilled the hole a little larger and inserted the new through-the-roof shorty through that hole. Easy peasy.

Thanks Jor.  Always a bit apprehensive about making any more holes through the body, but perhaps enlarging isn't quite as worrisome.
