Camp Foretravel

HI Folks, I well be arriving at Camp Foretravel This Fri. 5-31-13 I am having some work done on the coach starting Mon.  Are there any forum folks at the camp?

No need to sit around and wait in the lounge for work to be done.  There is a spectacular arboretum at the Univ of TX campus.  Beautiful azaleas, well worth the trip and a nice walk too.  Downtown Nacogdoches  has several self guided walking tours from the visitor's center.

Whatever gets fixed, be sure to test it carefully before you leave.  Don't make any assumptions that the work was done correctly or that some inadvertent or unintended consequence may leave something else not working.  You be the final inspector.  It is your coach.  Test everything.

Be sure they leave your coach clean both inside and out.  They should wash it but it never hurts to be assertive and ask the service advisor to make sure it gets washed.  It took me a month to clean all the greasy hand prints from the bay doors, the dash and the front door.  They never washed it.  I forgot to ask.

FWIW ... I have never had an issue with a service tech at FOT leaving a mess in my coach after service. They are meticulous with the use of drop cloths and take care to clean up very nicely after any kind of interior work.  We have never had an issue with fingerprints or grease on the exterior, either!  As far as them washing the coach after service ... not gonna happen.

I too have had several trips to Foretravel Service and they always clean and keep drop cloths inside.
Never heard of coach being washed; maybe if you had fiberglass work done.  I have always been pleased with the work but always ck to ensure the work is performed to your satisfaction no matter who does it.  DAN

Post-fiberglass or one being prepped for delivery after sale are the only ones I've seen washed as well.  With water restrictions in Texas, there's even a sign on the laundry room asking folks not to wash their coaches at CampFT.

Our coach has almost always been returned to us in the cleanliness condition we left it in.  There was one FOT visit back in 2010 with a highly unacceptable result, but according to Cory R. the tech responsible (or should I say irresponsible) was no longer there by early 2012.

I too had a couple times it was dirty and not done right but that was in the past.  David F shop is always clean and tidy when it comes back to you. I second testing everything tough and I have nt seen a coach washed unless it was coming out of fiberglass.

They will wash your coach for you if you ask and if you pay for it! 

Last summer between trips, we had to have emergency fiberglass and paint repair on our slide due to HWH service tech damaging it.  We were going to pick the coach up and head out for Yellowstone from Nac.  I asked if they would wash the coach. They did an excellent job and it was not just a hose off but a make ready wash as if it was new, tire dressing, spot free drying, windows washed etc...  Not sure the price as HWH paid as it was part of the deal cut with them on fixing their mistake.

Stallings washes after a repair and you can get MOT to wash at times if the guy was not busy. New guy there now and he works slower.

Wish I could report otherwise, but, from our experience, not that long ago, make sure that you raise any concerns, BEFORE you leave the FT parking lot.  Once you are "down the road" 3 feet or 300 miles, they aren't going to respond to your concerns.

We've had numerous outside smudges and hand-prints, etc. before, courtesy of a number of service facilities  They were never a lingering concern, as long as they were easily removed. 
In 180K (+) miles, we've used quite a few different service facilities and never had any interior damage. 
That was prior to a mid Nov. 2011 service in Nac.  Upon arrival our entryway carpet was still in pristine condition.  Following that service, I, as well as two professional carpet cleaners, have tried to remove a "small-that-became-large" grease stain to no avail.  The whole entryway carpeting will have to be removed (I know, we should have tile anyway, but we have done with and like the carpet so well - our shoes stay outside at home and in the coach).  Never a peep from Nac following my several followup requests.

Even if in a BIG hurry, spend as much time as necessary going over the work done at any facility before leaving!
