Hydraulic fan motor leaking '02 U320 Cummins ISM 450

We had a fairly long drive today, from Taos, NM to Denver, CO ... over the Raton pass and up I-25 to Buckley AFB.  Just a bit more than 300 miles and pulling some decent hills.  Got fairly warm engine temps only once, but things got a workout. After parking at the AFB famcamp for about 45 minutes on a nice, new concrete pad Jeff noticed a small oil patch under the rear of the coach.  It appears that the fan motor is leaking a bit.  The threads that I can find concerning this issue all seem to involve coaches about 10 years older with engines different from ours ... don't know how much this matters.

Is there anyone who has had an issue with a year/engine closer to ours??  How urgent is this sort of thing?  We will be making a loop from Denver to Yellowstone and back with some grandkids and would prefer not to be stuck along the side of the road.

I have has a similar experience with my 2007 Nimbus. The hose failed where connected to the fan motor. Our problem was an O-ring. Still, we had to be towed into to repair - actually flatbeded in. The fans us 10W-40 oil which I now carry three gallons worth in case. This is something you should monitor closely. We were by Mt. Hood, Oregon when ours let go. Freightliner did a wonderful job replacing the O-ring and putting us back on the road.

I had a leak in mine on 3/15/11 and bought a new motor from Foretravel for $490 and had it replaced at a truck shop $421 Labor.
I had the old one rebuilt here locally at a hydraulic shop Foretravel Hydraulic Pump Rebuild

Carol you need to find a youngster to crawl under there take a look. Hopefully it's just the hose but could be a seal on the fan motor. Pretty easy to tell if you can get up close and look. Are you at Fitzsimons AFB? Give me a call in the morning. I will have some time in the afternoon I could come out and look.

There is a Cummins repair in Commerce City and Stewart and Stevens also in Commerce City works on everything.

I had a small leak on one of those fan motors. It turned out to be from a fitting and was not too hard to fix. I have attached a couple photos to show the area and fitting.
I hope your leak is as easy.
Regards to you both.
