New Tire Question

The party that has purchased their new to them 1994 Foretravel GV Unihome U280, from Barb and I, will be picking this beauty up tomorrow before noon, however, the coach is scheduled for a tire change early in the morning.  Michelin's Pilot XZA 1+, 275/80R 22.5 LRG are on the unit right now, and Toyo M154 295/75 22.5" LRG are due to be installed.  According to the agent that crossed the referenced the correct Michelin data, these Toyo tires are going to be okay.  That's close to the current situation, so my question is:  Are these Toyo tires a good match for his new rig?

Any help with this issue will be greatly appreciated.

I am sure they are the ones I have put on the front of my 2000 U295 when I took off the older Michelins. I have been happy

I have 2+ years and 20,000 miles on my Toyo 154's and they look like new.    I feel the ride and handling is equal to the Michelins.    I had no dimensional issues and have no rubs at any point during turning.  They balanced up perfect with very little additional weight.

295/75/22.5 Toyo does it fit on the same rim that 9R22.5 or 255/80/22.5 or 265/75/22.5 fit?

On my 94/U225 I have new Toyo 265/75/22.5 ... if i can put 295/75/22.5 (which will be wider) i rather go as wide as i can for the front tires. I am getting ready to buy tires for the back .... if 295 can go to front i can put the 265's on the back.
Thank you,

Al here is some info

size              Wheel width  Overall Dia    Overall width  Load width    Rev per mile
265/75R22.5        7.5          38.4              10.2              11.1                  541
295/75R22.5        8.25          40.2              11.2              12.2                  517

If you change to a larger tire you must take the wheel width into consideration or you
will have wear and handling problems.

Al,
You might look for wear points on the front suspension and see if your tires are rubbing on full lock turns already.  Know mine did, and I was using the standard size spec.

The U225 came with 6.75X22.5 wheels. The 255/80R22.5 Michelin or others 265/75R22.5 is pushing it for that narrow rim.  Nothing wider will work.

I thought so ... thank you.
For my back tires I am trying to find 9x22.5 ... they are not easy to find on line ... have to order it through tire shop i think.
What was that product called that attaches to the both side by side tires and keeps the air pressure same on them all the time?
I found it (Crossfire Dual Tire Pressure Equalization System) Cross Fire.

9R22.5 OR as many of us have done, Michelin 255/80R22.5 will also fit on the 6.75 wheel and have adequate dual spacing.  At most, you will need to make a very minor adjustment to the front cut angles.  That adjustment is done with a standard screw driver on the top and bottom of the Sheppard M100 steering box-- very easy.  Some have reported use of 265/75R22.5, but I have no first hand information on this size for the U225 and/or U240.

I have the Crossfire on my rears... I guess I like them... at least no issues. You get them for a specific pressure range and then just check them with a glance.

I don't know how a TPMS system will work with the Crossfire installed. If you get a blowout on either back tire the Crossfire is supposed to hold pressure in the good tire. A TPMS would show some indication of lowered pressure, however. You would only need a TPMS for 4 tires.
