Built-in Vacuum Install

Installed an Intervac built-in vacuum based on the recommendations on this forum.  Installed it in the space under the frig that is used as the return air duct for the furnace.  Cut out the entire panel and replaced the small grill with one that was 12x24.  Ordered from Home Depot.  If I had to do it again, I'd order from Amazon and get one where the louvers went horizontally.

Cut a piece out of the grill so the vac would fit and reinforced it with alum bar and epoxy.  Painted the vac and the grill to match the decor.

I also cut a 2x12 vent in the right side of the cabinet (the air goes through the louvered washing machine door and then through the 2x12 vent) to make sure the furnace was getting more air than before I started the project.  We don't have a washer but it would  still work if you have 1" clearance on the side of the washer.

There was already an outlet in the space under the frig (probably for a washer) so I just plugged the vac into it.
