2003 U320 Owners - Do you have transmission temp readout?

I do not get a transmission temperature readout on the dash gauge or on the Driver Information Center.

According to Mark Harvey, the 2003 U320 the transmission temp is the sump temp and is read from a sensor inside the transmission (i.e., Foretravel did not add a temp sensor as it had done on previous year coaches).

I have had Allison check the transmission sensor and the ECU.  All are fine.  The ECU would throw a code if it did not get a valid temperature.

The Driver Information Center only reads data off the J1708/J1587 bus and I believe the dash gauges, also, only read the J1708/J1587 bus.  I read on a Tiffin web site that the WTEC III only transmits temperature info on the J1939 bus, but I have not found any other statements to that fact.

Does anybody with a 2003 U320 get a temperature readout?

Thanks

Don't have a U320, we have a 2003 U295.  We do get both the transmission and retarder temps on Silverleaf which connects to the Cummins dataport.

Do you get a transmission temp reading from your analog gauge?

My U320 has no analog gauges.  All dash gauges are connected to the data bus through a blue box inside the dash.

We see transmission temp on the dash gauge.  Don't recall if it's on the Driver Info Center or not.

VMSpc shows transmission temp standard, plus retarder temp if you enable that PID and set the limits.

Hi Michelle,  do you know which PID is used for Retarder Temp?  I would like to add it to my display.  Also trying to add tire pressure as well.  It is supposed to work but I haven't figured it out yet.

The data logging feature is neat.  You can go back an look for things that you might not have noticed while driving along.

Thanks,

Looking here Retarder Temperature on Silverleaf VMSpc it appears to be 120.

Tire pressure - it's compatible with PressurePro but you need some sort of extra receiver.  Silverleaf's price is $295 for it PressurePro? | SilverLeaf Electronics, Inc..
