I'm am afraid that this is like disconnecting those da*n dingers under the dash board of a pickup.  You may not like them dinging when you leave the door open, but when you go disconnecting them, that causes other things to start happening.  Best to dig out the wiring diagram and see what else is connected to them!

If you open the circuit the dinger should not beep anymore. It takes a completed circuit to make the beeper work

There's a magnet? sensor? on the roof next to where the OTA arm would be when it was lying down. It has two small wires coming from it.

The OTA arm is at AM Solar, and we are in Fremont, CA.

So would cutting the two small wires make things worse? Or better?

You could put a small pice of metal on the magnet to complete the circuit. That should fix the problem.

tie the two wires together on the roof, fer gods sake! What do you think the magnet does...?

Are you saying the device on the roof is a magnet?

And when the steel arm of the OTA antenna was in proximity of the device it closed a loop?

Or that there's a magnet on the OTA arm that comes in proximity to the device when the arm is lowered in place and closes the loop?

Or?

Paul, When I installed the Jack antenna I thought I could ty wrap the sensor to a cable to hold it level, I found after about 5 miles that wasnt going to cut it when the beeping started.  I stopped at a rest area and removed the switch to stop the beeping.  That ride had to try your patience.

Well, I didn't want to start the engine and air up just to see if tying the two wires together worked, so I waited until we travelled.

I didn't work.  I still have "Ant Up" on the dash and ringing in my ears.

Any other ideas?

Try disconnecting the 2 wires and isolating the wires as I believe when there is continuity through the wires completes the circuit and and causes the ant up to be on and the beeper to alert you
