Water ingress -- first street-side bay aft of entry door -- advice needed

I first noticed the corrosion on a steel-tab member inside this bay door when I acquired the Coach. Before removing the rust and re-finishing it I wanted to find the cause. There is no other evidence in any other bay of water finding its way into the bays.

Now that the weather here has turned to having a substantial amount of condensation run-off during the night --this morning I think I found it. Pictures show the rust, and water drops hanging from the bottom of the awning bracket and the door bell button. I'm thinking that the normal run-off from the roof is finding its way into the bay through the door bell button -- and running down inside the wall.

Question is -- does that button housing just come out with careful prying with a small flat-blade screwdriver? I don't see any way of accessing the area from inside the Coach. I do remember reading here that this door bell button was sometimes a cause of electrical fires from shorting out due to water ingress. My door bell has been disabled by the PO, and so that is not a problem.

Yes, mine just pried out. I used a plastic scraper to avoid damaging the paint then caulked it when replacing. Bell push is available everywhere. Put a 2 amp fuse in the feed to the chime and it will blow if it overheats.
