Catastrophic system failure ! "New"

Gee what bad thing to happen . While driving down the road DW says in a loud voice "Brad- the toilet seat is loose " I thought sure the wheels had fallen off or something along this line . This is bad all right , but the really bad part is I can't figure out to tighten it up .No way to feel or see the back part as it is up against the wall very tight. I don't see any way to remove the toilet from the floor .No bolts or anything is there . Might have to head to FOT .Any ideas on how to do this ?          Brad Metzger

Well, thank goodness you have TWO commodes and no one has to risk injury by "wobbling" while you are going down the road!!

Come to think of it , ----I have given some thought about a IH-45  , how ever tightening a seat bolt , how hard can it be ? The bolts must have come from the basement up into the bottom of the stool .  Or ------it might be glued down . It has to come off the floor to get to the seat bolts . There can not be another way short of C-3 . It is time for our wizards to jump in with the fix .              Brad Metzger

Brad - what brand/model of toilet?  If the forum has that info we can search the web for you and see if we can figure out the bolt access.

Ahead of that info, any chance there's a velcro'd down faux tank lid at the back that hides the mechanicals?

I checked all over and around ,  name is Sea Land , but no  numbers of any kind .It is a vac-flush type , all china kind . Near the floor on each side there is chromed smooth rounded metal ends of , maybe a shaft of some sort. They are flush with the sides of unit about half inch size and one inch off floor . I called James at FOT , he said the nuts are half inch , put a socket on them and tighten them up . Or remove it from the floor then tighten them up .I have no problem doing all that but-------How ! James struck out on this issue .

Been driving . Now at Ellsworth Air Force Base ,in Rapid City SD area . Ok , the Sea Land potty wizard said , those half inch chrome shaft ends , are plastic , they pop off with a knife blade and expose allen wrench bolt heads , which hold toilet to the floor . Haven't done it yet , but have it on my brain to do . Thanks everyone ,yes it's a poopy subject but some one had to do it . ;) ;) ;)      Brad Metzger
