Opening our safe?

We have the numbers for our safe, from two different places in the coach, but can't open it.  Suggestion on the R, L, R spins or sequence?  1998 U295

I have a 99 and hopefully is the same. Most safes are. Left 4 turns to the first number. Right three turns to the second.(passing the number twice and stopping on it the third time) Left two turns (passing the number once and stopping on the second)to the last and then right until the bolt opens.

That was quick, thanks.

Heading back to the coach and will try your solution.  We had not done all that many turns past the numbers.

Something I have experience with. I used to work on bank equipment for NCR and Delarue Cash Sytems. I have set and replaced many combo locks. Hope it works for you.

We had a R, L, R written on the solution tape.  The door was unlocked, safe empty, I closed the door and luckily not to have put anything into it that day.

It opens, with some slight amount of turns.

Turned left 4x
Stopped at first #
Rt. past next number, and stop at the next number
Left past the 3rd number and stop at the 3rd number
Right back to near the 3rd number where dial jambs
Handle opens

Thanks for your help.

Thats great. Glad you got it open. When we set combo's in the field we used to lock them open after setting them to make sure the combo took ok. If not we could disassemble the lock and reset it.

Dave I appreciate the you posting the number of turns but you forget to post the numbers. I may want to get in your safe someday. I knew your old combination. Don't you think I should know your new one?

Thanks!!!

Thanks all for the help and suggestions.

We don't have any coach bucks stowed, and sure wish we did.  I know of a member that bought his Foretravel, and was told the combination.  He opened the safe sometime later and found a very nice cash gift had been left by the seller.  I checked to see if Kent had done that, nope, not even any spare parts or tools.  And Norm showed me the safe, and the combination's hidden place, and he made sure it was empty and ready for us :(

Dave- when we bought our coach in Aug, PO didn't know it had a safe. It does- and it takes a special key- which I don't have- to unlock it. Will have to contact manufacturer. BUT- The P.O. said: that the original owner use to tow a Rolls behind this coach. The mind- or whats left of mine has been in overdrive.
