lp sensor acting up

On our way to Florida from Northern Michigan our lp sensor acted up and by chance I pulled off the wires at the solenoid and put them back on. It actually worked and stayed on for a couple days. When we came back today from our adventures the beeper was going on. I shut if off & tried to reset it several times but it didnt work. I even pulled the wires on and off again but nothing.
When we leave for Michigan in a week or so we will need to run the lp furnaces as its COLD back there and I'm wondering about taking that solenoid out completely so we can run the gas.

Right now while at an rv park we are 50amp and not using gas.

Thoughts about running lp with no lp detector?

LP detector no longer in any new motor home.  Remove plunger in solenoid valve and go.

Yes, LP detectors no longer control the propane shut off valve, but detectors ARE still used and needed.

These things don't have an infinite life.  Just replace the detector and either remove or dismantle (I have not done that, so can offer no first hand advice) the at-tank valve.

Turn LP supply valve off.  Remove retaining nut holding solenoid and pull solenoid off of valve.  Using 5/8 wrench, remove valve. .  Remove plunger and reassemble.  Turn valve on.

I use a detector as mentioned by Brett above.
