New bathroom floor (question update)
Well we took the plunge yesterday and ripped out the carpet in the bathroom and boy an I glad we did! We had planned to do it this summer since it always took forever to dry out after shower. Well while in FL over Christmas the floor just would not dry upon inspection I found a small leak in the toliet too. After removing the toliet the seal was in bad shape so a new one is on order.
After ripping the carpet out I found the floor was frozen
(it's been below ZERO most of last week). So I put the space heater and fan on for about 24 hours. I inspected all the wood and found that the floor was solid and not damaged. However after 20+ years of stepping in the same 1 square foot after a shower the floor had a dip in it. So I used some leveling compound and leveled out the area. After drying I began installing the floor. We picked out a floor made by ALURE for high traffic, moisture restisant areas that we found it at Home Depot. Due to the small size one box is more than enough. Bad thing is it's like building a jigsaw puzzle so patience is a must.
I'm posting some pics now and once the parts come in for the toliet I'll post the end result. I also installed new headlights while waiting for stuff to dry....
