ISM 500 mated to Allison 3000?

I am looking at a '07 FT Nimbus in La Vergne, TN. This dealer says it has an ISM500 with an Allison 3000. Did FT ever mate a Allison 3000 to an engine that large? I think this dealer just has wrong info. Am I right?

The MC number is for a ARANDASH in PA, Don't think a member here.  Might be well to give him a call to get history on coach, all he can do is say no.

I doubt it - BUT Foretravel was doing some odd things in that era.

Ask the dealer to have one of his techs crawl underneath and look at the tag on the transmission (get a photo if possible).  The tag don't lie...

Sorry, not a chance.  The ISM is only mated to the 4000 series. A quick look at the transmission tag (driver's side of transmission) will verify.

Another possibility:  Dealer could be right about the transmission but wrong about the engine.  Standard for a 40 ft Nimbus is 400 hp ISL - 500 hp ISM was optional.

No way. It is either a ISM and a Allison 4000 but mire likely a 450 hp ISL. I did not know the Arendashe's had a Nimbus.  Thought they had couple year older U model.

What about a photo of the data plate next to the driver's seat?  That should have some info on engine and transmission, I think.  Or if nothing else, the build number that could then be researched through FT...

I have tried on a different coach to get info from FOT using a VIN, but was told by Tyle that they could not give out specifics on any particular coach. Maybe I wasn't talking to the right person.

They will not give the repair records but should be able to tell you engine and transmission. I can check Monday.
