No power when ignition switch is turned

Replaced start batteries last week and coach started just fine 5 or six times since.  Today when I drove the coach and shut it down and tried to restart nothing...dead...no relays no power to anything related to turning the key to just the on position.  I searched the forum and found nothing with no power.  I checked the solenoid under the bed from battery and I have good juice there.  Where is a main fuse located on a 2003 U320?  Thanks for any suggestions.  Help.... Ignition Solenoid-- under dash.  A common failure item.

Symptom: NOTHING that should work with ignition on works.

Yes, it could also be an ignition switch, but very easy to diagnose.

Lift the dash top up (if like our U300) and it will be right in front of the steering wheel. Silver and should look like this one: Cole Hersee 24213 BX 12V 4 Terminal 200 Amp Continuous Duty Solenoid SPST No |

If the batteries were just replaced, I would double check the installation for loose battery terminal also.

David,

Yours should be located behind the removable panel in front of the passengers seat. Here is a pic. sequence as to where to look.

If you just replaced your starting batteries recheck battery connection. Especially the negative. I suspect if you have nothing then its a connection problem somewhere.

All battery connections were tight.  Never could find the solenoid behind the panel in front of passengers seat.  I crawled back under coach and took off all ground connectors and low and behold there was a hunk of road grime... Old grease yuck on one of the cable ends.  Cleaned all connections and fired right up.  I suspect when I pushed the cables up out of the way when installing them (in such a convenient location) one rubbed the frame and I did not see it.  After the battery install the coach did fire right up and I even had it out on a 30 mile exercise.  I guess somehow I jarred it enough to make it do what it did.  Thanks to all for the info and advice.  I am going to post a pic behind the panel and hopefully someone can point out what I may be missing.  Thanks again,  David

David,

When the mood strikes you, it's never a bad idea to make up an extra ground cable and go from your start batteries to the closest frame ground. Good to see the engine has a good chassis ground also.
