Trimetric Has Some New Products

One of my first upgrades to the '93 U225 was a Trimetric 2025 which is a battery monitor plus a means of determining just how much current you are actually using in real-time, how much total capacity of your house bank you have used and how much remains, as well as the voltage of the start bank (if you want)... and more. Ours is mounted just below the A/C mater on the cabinet next to the entrance that also contains the garbage compactor so it is easy to just glance at it when it's set to display the data you want to see the most (for me it's battery bank voltage but YMMV).

If you boondock at all then something like this device is really convenient to have because it removes the gueswork involved in determining when - or if - you need to charge your house battery bank. If you have solar panels - or if you plan to have solar panels - then it's almost a requirement because you can use one before you buy your panels to determine how much power you use which will then determine how big your solar array should be. Even if you already have a solar panel system with a sophisticated solar charger the Trimetric is useful because it's small and easy to see and can be set to display the data you find the most important and other data without cycling through a long series of settings or peering into a cabinet to read a panel.

Trimetric now has some new products:

The 2030RV-F is an addition to the Trimetric line from Bogart Engineering and has some new data displays. About $150 on the 'net.

The SC-2030 is a PWM battery charger designed to work along with the 2030-RV-F to deliver safe solar charging. It is not an MPPT charger, however. But not everyone wants an MPPT charger. This is especially good for owners of small trailers/RVs which use only one deep-cycle battery and a smaller solar panel array. About $130.

Both available from Bogart Engineering and offered for sale at many outlets.

The 2025 is still a product and still available.
