Re: Towing

Each coach has a GVWR plaque in the driver's area-- on the side wall next to the drivers seat.
Important numbers are:
GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating)= the most the coach and toad/trailer may weight.
GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating)= The most the coach can weight when loaded.
GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Ratings)= The most each axle can weight-- VERY important when pulling a trailer, as the tongue weight is WAY behind the rear axle. Toads with regular tow bar do not add tongue wieght-- well maybe a couple of pounds, but not relevant.
Get each of those numbers on any coaches if interest along with ACTUAL COACH WEIGHT from present or past owner having the coach weighed. I can look up the numbers on the 1993 U240, but the 1995 is heavier, as it is a wide body, so not sure it would help you.
Basically, GCWR minus actual loaded weight of coach= towing capacity of toad. With a trailer, rear axle weights from tongue weight must be factored in to make sure the rear axle is not overloaded-- a pound on the hitch is well more than a pound on the rear axle and relieves weight from the front axle.
