Purchase a 2005 model?

Hello everyone,

I note that there are four 2005 U320 coaches for sale on the FOT site.  That's four out of twelve Foretravel coaches for sale there at FOT.  Is that just unusually good luck, or are there some bugaboos about the 2005 models?  I'm thinking of things like the slide mechanisms on, was it 2001 models? and fiberglass endcaps on the 2002 (?) models.
I also note the 2008 Nimbus...looks like a nice coach.
Does the forum know of issues with the 2005's?  For that matter, how about the 2008 Nimbus?
Thank you.

I think you mean the 2002 slide mechanism.  The 05s were built during the time FT was having issues.  They should have had all the bugs worked out as the new owners stepped up and fixed them under warranty.

Might just be that it is time for the owners to move up to newer coaches. 2 years ago when we bought our 03 there were lots of 03's for sale then, seems like a cycle to me

My guess is that they are approaching 10 years old and are getting cycled for newer ones.  We bought ours as it was approaching 10.  It was a good price point for us and we liked the floor plans.

Our 2001 has been pretty durable, some issues but nothing unexpected.  Something special is going to have to come along to entice us into moving to a newer coach.  They seem to be getting more and more complex, more slides, more electronics.  Ours fits us well.

We've had our 05 for 3 years and by far the most money we've spent on it has been for upgrades and not repairs.  Don't know of any problem specific to 05's.  As other have said it is probably a cyclical thing.  When we were looking in 2011 it was the only one we saw.  Most at that time were 02's & 03's.  We ended up buying the layout, not the year.

Those '05 owners are smart fellas. It's extremely difficult to get purchase financing on coaches over 10 years old, so they're getting them sold while the bank still wants to play ball.
