Re: clay based grease

More of the same, from my son who works for Exxon Mobil ...
"Hey – This is the correct grease for this application. In fact, this is clay-thickener type of grease so the recommendation is right. Mobiltemp SHC32 is one of our highest performing greases and is primarily intended for high temperature applications (like brakes).
From our Product Data Book ...
Mobiltemp SHC 32 is an organo-clay-thickened antiwear grease containing a synthetic hydrocarbon base fluid. The exceptional resistance to thermal and oxidative degradation provided by the base fluid, coupled with the excellent high-temperature structural stability and high dropping point of the clay thickener results in an outstanding high-temperature grease. The wax-free nature of the synthetic base fluid and its high-viscosity index also provide superior low-temperature lubrication, particularly in applications where low-temperature startup or running torque is important. Mobiltemp SHC 32 is recommended for the lubrication of sealed or repackable ball and rolling-element bearings, splines, screws and some enclosed gearing. It has an operating temperature
range of -50°C to 180°C.
Good luck with it xoxo G"
