Fresh water design pressure.

Is there a method of determining what the design pressure of the fresh water sys. is??  I want to replace the old
shurflo pump with a newer one, but I can't find what the max. pressure should be.  The newest one has a 55 psi cut off press. and I think that the old one is only 40 or 45 psi.  How to verify this??  Thanks and have a great day  ----  Fritz

PEX tubing is pressure tested at 100 psi or 1.5x normal operating pressure. So normal operating pressure is about 60 psi or a bit more.  I would think that 55 psi would be OK.  You could always put a pressure regulator downstream of the pump.  I use a 40 psi regulator when connected to city water.

I installed a 65 max PSI water pump three years ago. No problems. Needed the higher pressure for the RO system.

Dan I think the pump in the link I posted in another thread (quoted below) is the same pun you are asking about. If so, I put one in a year or so ago and have been happy with it so far. A little noisier than I would like, but that might be my fault... I made quarter-twenty mounting studs and the instructions said to use number 10 screws to mount (read them afterwards :o ) so  that the pump would be free to move on its rubber grommets. I don't know how much difference that made... one of these days if I hear someone elses installation of this pump, I will redo my mount if their's is significantly quieter.
