Power Tech 10 kw Air Intake

New experience with the genset, normal air filter replacement every 200-300 hr run time. Changed, ran about 43 hrs and it stopped up stalling the Kubota. Installed new filter cartridge 1.1 hr later, again it stopped up. OPPS!!  Back to shop remove filter element, looks new, and found chunk of insulation in canister so now to remove unit to be able to get into the back of the housing,  must be the old insulation coning apart & stuffing the filter intake.
The material causing the issue is from the insulation inside the quiet box. It is stopping up the intake of the air filter, meaning it is not going past the air filter and stopping up in the engine intake  :o
 Moe later.

Time for the moe later, upon disassembly, found the insulation behind the engine had fallen down blocking the air intake to air filter causing the air line between the filter and engine intake to collapse.
Had to slide genset forward, remove rear panels, solve issue, reassemble, all good and about two hour job in my shop.
Very near time to completely redo the insulation in the genset sound box.  Sure not a small nor quick & easy job, material is the small part.

I have been working under my generator all week on the steering box. I noticed when the generator was pulled out on its rails that the side of the generator (and its vents) are flush up against the foam insulation on the generator cabinet side. The vents are black from the dirty foam. This can't be good!
I think I will place a piece of fiberglass board over the foam around the area were the generator vents are located, maybe all over that side including the air intake area for the engine.

The foam and sound barrier in my generator box long ago fell apart, and crumbled all over everything. I removed what was left , going to replace  it with EZ Cool. Some years ago the duct from the air cleaner box to the engine intake on the generator had a hole in it, I fashioned a new one out of Sec 40 PVC pipe and 2 elbows custom fitted with a heat gun.
