ISC Air Filter change gasket question...

I have the right airfilter that I got from the Filterbarn, but the smaller of the two included foam ring gaskets appears to need to be stuck on with some adhesive to stay in place on the small end of the cone. There is what I thought at first glance some peel and steel on one side of the small gasket, but now I think it must be the residue of some failed adhesive and that the gasket was shipped with it stuck in place as was the bottom one. Can anybody confirm this? There appears to be no way to hold the gasket in place and it's horizontal position while installing the cover without the gasket being's stuck to the small end of the filter cone. The gasket is still in place on the old filter, so I guess I'll just use some super glue or something to hold it in place will I get the cover installed... Does that seem like the reasonable course of action?

Don, The air filters I have always used had a foam  like material stuck on the ends, I like you would guess that it was peel and stick.  Old trick also is to smear grease on gaskets when you install it, that picks up additional dirt and dust.

Thanks for the reply Gary, I used some rubber cement to stick the foam ring to the metal end cap of the of the filter. When I examined the metal cap at the smaller end of the cone, I could see the outline of the old glue and confirmed my assessment.
