Encore closed, older FT assets?

By the way, Encore is out of business, they closed last month.

Any info/word on what may have happened to the pre-1995 FT parts they bought (but never appeared to have inventoried) that sat out back of the building in storage trailers for years?

Michelle, I heard lots stored at a hanger, along with decals and thing that otherwise are not available.  Had hoped someone local, other otherwise, would buy that inventory.  Last I knew though.

Talked to bob McGrath my old buddy around Christmas time who is the owner.  Three pacemakers later he was in not perfect condition.  He never responded to my graphic request.

He was looking for a 97-99 u320 then

I hope that the owner will allow someone to purchase the inventory. I seen too many times when it goes to the dump. Which would be a tragedy. Maybe MOT would be interested in it?

Bob, do you have any idea what kinds of stuff he has?

Could  it be parts; vaccum pumps, windshiels motirs, door latches, mirror parts or interior; old shades, furnaces, switches, relays, valences, thin lights,  drawers, handels, furniture,  booths?

Would he be willing to set a couple dates for a sale, go through the stuff? Maybe thoes interested could make the trip, he could make some $$ and help out owners.

Just a thought ^.^d

I'm not Bob, but have heard many times that Encore never did an inventory and really had no idea what exactly what in those trailers.  At one point they supposedly hired someone to start going through and seeing what was in there, but I don't believe it ever happened.  Never understood why it wasn't done early on and why all that just sat in several trailers with no one really knowing what was there.  Sheltered from rain but not much more than that.

To add to Michelle's comment, the guy running Encore told me that he had once hired a couple of kids to do the inventory but fired them as they were stealing the merchandise. He also told me that Foretravel refused to give him an inventory of the parts when they sold them to him. Probably some nifty stuff in those trailers!

More likely Foretravel had no idea what everything was, and the cost to figure it out didn't make business sense.  I am thinking the transaction happened after FT was sold to the current ownership and they didn't get much in the way of inventory documentation.

Was not in person. Phone conversation only with buddy bob.

He used to eat terribly.  Fat greasy stuff.  Red faced in the 80's.  I did warn him.  He laughed then.....

Any one interested in having a part of buying those old trailers?  Would be a hell of a treasure hunt.  Buy the trailers, move them to a secure location, 4 or 5 of us together could have fun.  I would put up some $$$.  Course, lots to learn before moving forward.. PM mail me if interested..

When we were in Eugene, OR last year another motorhomer tipped us off to Northwest RV Supply. They bought Monaco's & Country Coach's inventory when they went under. They have 2 stores in Eugene. It's worth checking out both. It's a warehouse environment with row after row of shelves stuffed full of RV stuff. Switches, lights, gauges, wheels, a whole front axle assembly, air tanks, etc, etc, etc. We bought several satin nickel lights to replace the brass ones in our coach. They were about a quarter of the price of new. It was a blast just walking around looking at all the stuff!

I think the only person who has a mental inventory of what is in those trailers is Keith Risch, who is now at MOT.  He is the only guy who poked his head in there for years, while he was the mechanic at Encore.
