Javelina 2U9 Audit system

Recently purchased a 2002 U295 coach, model 3610 and discovered that the audit system is not reporting levels for the gray and black water tanks.  I suspect that the sending units may be the cause of the problem.  The coach has 33,000 miles on it; sat a lot for the first 10 years.  I would appreciate any advice/help regarding this problem.  Thanks

You didn't mention the fresh water tank, is it reading OK?  You can always add water to it to see if it is tracking and all that can happen is for it to fill and overflow.  It doesn't sound likely that both gray and black sensors would all quit at the same time.  I would be very suspect of the Audit computer.  Do you know how much water you have in the tanks and about what they should be reading?  There are ways to check that, but I don't know what your sys is like.  You may be able to check the resistance between the contacts at each level and see what that may tell you.  Have a great day  ----  Fritz

Mine didn't read above 1/2. I put vinegar mixture in all tanks (though I don't think this did much) and I re-calibrated them. Fixed my problem and works great now.

I have eventually had "issues" with tank gauges in every RV that we have owned. I installed a SeeLevel gauge system in our coach. No more guessing the tank levels now. I still cannot understand why mfrs put sensors inside the tanks.

Fresh water tank reading is correct.  The outside temp, compass and LP sensors are all functioning.  Pulled the gray and black sensor, very corroded.  Soaked them in vinegar, removed some of the gunk, but still doubtful if they will work.  I have checked parts at Foretravel and the sensors are no longer available.  They did have a sensor from micro pulse that will fit and they thought it might work (same wiring harness).  Has anyone tried one of them with the Javelina system?

I could be wrong, but from what I saw while working on my RV, and have heard here, the sensors on mine are not internal and taped on the outside of the tank.

Hi krush,
Our 1997 unit has the external aluminum type tape on the side of the tanks. There is a wire behind the tape. Sometimes my tape needs to be tightened up for better readings. I use a small laminate roller to do this. It works most of the time.

Thanks for the post.  The sensors on the 02 are brass and are screwed into the line in front of the dump valves.  I have removed and cleaned them and will let you know if they work when I fill the tank.  From what I have read I should not have to recalculate since they were not changed out, hoping that is the case.  They are no longer made by Javelina and Foretravel is out of replacements.  If they do not work after cleaning I will probably try a micro pulse to see if they are compatible.  Thanks again for suggestions.

Can anyone tell where the plug that has to be shorted out (pin 15) is located on the 02 U295?  Thanks

FT installed a momentary switch up in the dash area for this

Adjusting Tank Monitor on an Audit 2U9

Keep in mind you are recalibrating all 3 tanks when you do this, so follow the procedure as outlined on Barry's site.  You'll need to empty all tanks, hit the switch, fill all tanks, hit the switch, to get the range for all three correct.

Steve says you pull the panel below the dash entry grab handle (passenger side, below the windshield, the vertical panel with the vents and the bay lock/outdoor/indoor switches).

Under the dash in that area is a board with relays on it.  The switch for the Audit tank calibration is mounted on the back of that board.  You can't see it, you'll have to feel for it.

Just purchased Coach last week and now we are getting acquainted.  Always find some things to work on new or used vehicle.  Really like the way it handles and the comfortable ride so far.  Will check out location of switch.  Thank you.

Reset of the 2U9 Audit for rmy 2002 U 320 is a white wire that I touch to the frame to... ground it. No switch.
