Parking brake light.

When driving at night, the parking brake light is on.  With the parking brake set, the light is bright.  When you release the brake, the light dims significantly, but is still visible.  In daylight, the light is not visible.  Any suggestions?

Does the light work thru a grounding of the contact? If so it may just be a bad(corrosion) ground. Seems to me that most light problems (if not all) are always grounding ones. Take apart and clean.
What do I know??

I don't have wiring diagrams, yet.  (Having Foretravel print me a set). Without a diagram I have no idea for sure how it works. I am going to look at my 96 wiring diagrams for a general idea.
