induction cooktop

Now that the new fridge is in, we're thinking of replacing the old 4-burner Kitchen Aid propane stove with an induction cooktop. Most domestic models are either 2 burner, or 4/5 burner. Due to space limitations, we'd like a 3 burner that is 24" wide. so far, any units like that are in the 2 to 3 thousand dollar range. That's a lot of coach bucks. Anyone here made this conversion, and if so, what did you do?

As you wish ::)  but consider how many stand alone 110v plug in types with digital temp you could buy and put them anywhere. Dont forget the rewiring that will be needed to install one.

We purchased a Samsung induction for s/bricks, I could boil 1/2 gal of water in 86 sec. But the stove was 6800! Cheap I thought, I loved to cook on it a cooks dream ^.^d

But for 300 each (or less) I can buy 20 counter tops.

Just my take, pretty sure someone remodeled took out the stove and uses a induction counter top on the Forum.

Make no mistake, I don't plan on spending nearly that much! Anything over 4-5 hundred dollars is out for me. Of course, once the DW gets involved, all bets are off.

This works for me.  Bought one last December on Amazon.  Since I need to keep the propane tank for hot water and furnaces, I see no need to take out the propane cooktop.
