My owner's manual has an alternative definition. "SOB: anyone making a derogatory comment about a DD." In the old days, the best reply was to get in front and roll a bit of coal. ;D

Trent ... you are welcome! One of the best things ever about this Forum is that NO ONE is ever condescending or derogatory when "new kids" begin to ask questions. EVERY one of us, whether we like to broadcast it or not, has done something so boneheadedly stupid that we amaze ourselves.  The best thing to do with that experience is to broadcast it, so that others may profit.

Plus ... I can usually turn it onto a great story.

Once in a great while SOB is what we do when we see a repair bill.  After a while the shock seems to abate. :o  For some it happens when you see your FT drive away with it's new owner at the wheel.

Carol,

That sounds like a very nice forum to be part of.

Speaking of ending a sentence with a preposition, my long-time bridge partner, a former English teacher, used to use this example:

Whatever did you choose such a dumb book to be read out of to for?

Winston Churchill was told he should not end a sentence with a preposition either.
