remote entry door lock

Neither the remote fob or the "DOOR LOCK" switch on the panel at the drivers left elbow will open or close the entry door deadbolt. The key, outside, and the lever, inside, both move the deadbolt appropriately. The remote fob works the basement latches, normally, both lock and unlock. Where is the failure? Is it inside the door or is there somewhere else that I can access without having to remove the interior panel on the door? (a real pain).
No RV! Have hung up the keys.

Sounds like the wire that passes through the door jam may be broken. It powers the door solenoid. Same thing happened to mine. Could also be a bad actuator in the door.

Howdy Horace,
Can you hear the entry door actuator?  If you cannot hear the actuator it may be the wiring from the door frame into the door itself.  This wire has broken on ours several times, just use a butt splice to repair the wire.
If you can hear the actuator, it may be the linkage from the actuator to the door lock.  This came loose on ours, we re-attached and used some jewelry glue to fasten.
Good luck, Dave A

Horace - I had the problem where I heard the door actuator but nothing happened. Unfortunately the interior panel had to come off so I could get to the metal piece that slipped off the actuator.  What a pain, but IF that is the problem, at least for me it was fixable with a screwdriver and only one scraped knuckle.  (did not take the interior panel all the way off which in hindsight would have made it an easier fix). :-[

Happened to me too.  I found that the wire came off at the connector right by the hole where it goes into the door.

Happened to me...the plastic tab inside the electric actuator broke.  I used a screw to fix it...I think Fiddler posted about it.  But the whold door did have to come apart to do it.  A PITA.

On edit:  I could still hear it trying to work when this happened, so my case was clearly NOT an electric wire getting off or cut.

Mark,Dave,John S, Michelle, thanks it WAS the white wire inside the sleeve between the frame and the door. It had broken loose inside the butt connector. All fixed now and I did NOT have to take the door apart.
Sure is wonderful to have this help. I would not have
taken the door apart but rather go to TN RV. Just think how much you folks saved me.
