The 32 ft Barth was "Ugly Betty", so when we got the 40 ft Foretravel she became "Big Betty".

When we first bought our coach in 2011, we dubbed it "The Problem Child" because so many little things puzzled us and needed attention.  That moniker has not applied for some time and I have wondered about giving it a christening with a new name.  Nothing has presented itself ... and I only have a name for our Sealand Vacu-Flush Magnum Opus commode ... "The Turbo Turd 3000" ... that flushes sideways with great vigor and much whooshing and the follow-up chug a chug a chug.

When Dori & I first started camping we were in a Ford Escape with a Eureka tent and a Big Agnes sleeping bag. Big Agnes Inc. Steamboat Springs, CO We liked the name Big Agnes so when we upgraded to the U300 the name came along. When we did the FBP in 2011 we had Biscuit paint her name and build number on the side.

We named our coach Mo, as we were looking for a camper and this Class A Grand Villa 36' came along and it was "MO" camper than we had expected considering our budget and what we had been looking for and at.

I'm still lobbying for 'breaking wind' but the DW won't hear of it as yet.  So it's 'the camper' named so by our DIL.  Facetiously I think....

OK Trent you win. I was wondering who would mention it first. :)

When we were at ladies driving school in 2010 James Triana gave all of the attendees our coach numbers on one of his business cards. I swear mine said #4180. I don't have the card anymore but so can't say for sure. When I had Biscuit paint the numbers on I gave him #4180.

Later on someone posted how to decipher the coach number from the plaque mounted next to the drivers seat. Turns out my coach number is #4150. The next time we were in Nac we had Biscuit fix it. It now reads #4150.

It's always something...

If so many are naming their rigs, they surely are talking to them, just not fessing up........we are generally very kind, almost affectionate?

I have now learned that many times my frustration should not have been directed at Gus but its bling or little things that Gus had nothing to do with, like the fantastic fan motor or operator error.  Then I have to apologize for my outburst.

Talk to your coach?

I named my dearly departed coach the Ultimate Bohemouth after the RV Homer Simpson wanted to buy:

"The Ultimate Behemoth is a type of RV similar to that of a double-decker bus, but the steering wheel is on the top floor. It features a big screen TV, its own satellite, an elevator, 4 deep fryers (one for each part of the chicken), along with various other features. It was being sold at Bob's RV Round-Up. Homer and the children were impressed, but Marge worried the expensive price on the RV."

I bought it from a guy very much like Cowboy Bob

E3.  In 1985 we took a 19' Midas Class C up to Alaska for 6 weeks.  We took the ferry from Seattle to Skagway, got off there and followed the gold rush trail through White Horse up to Dawson City.  There we came across the sign that said "Dempster Highway, Inuvik" and decided to head up there.  The Dempster Highway is 480 miles, all gravel, north through the Yukon and Northwest Territories up to the Inuit settlement at Inuvik on the Mackenzie River delta near the Beaufort Sea.  One fuel stop along the way at Eagle Plains.  Two river crossings by ferry across the Peel and Arctic Red River.  One you drive on and drive off, the other you back on and then drive off.  Only time I have ever seen anyone back up a double tractor trailer rig was onto that ferry.  Incredible journey.  Anyway, after spending a week or two above the Arctic Circle, it became the "Arctic Explorer".
When we got the Lazy Daze 23' class C in 1994, it became "Explorer 2", or E2.  It couldn't be "Arctic Explorer 2" since it had never been to the Arctic.
In 2009 we got the Foretravel, so it became E3.  It came very close to earning its Arctic stripes this summer on the Alaska Motorcade but didn't quite make it. When we were in Fairbanks the hardier among us took a bus 250 miles up the Dalton Highway to Coldfoot so we could officially cross the Arctic Circle, but all the coaches stayed behind in Fairbanks.
