Desiccant bowl removal

Prior to removing the bowl should the HWH system be shut off and is it necessary to pull the aux compressor in line 5 amp fuse?  Anything else?

Desiccant is pink and from reading a previous post I want to try baking at 350 to dehydrate and return to blue.

Disable the compressor and bleed the air down before removing any part under pressure.

Yes. It is necessary to pull the inline 5 amp fuse. If you do not remove the 5 amp fuse, the compressor will come on if the slide air tank pressure goes lower  than 80-90 psi. Also, make sure the HWH level system in not on and in automatic mode. If the system wakes up at the 30 minute interval and needs to re-level, the aux compressor will come on even if the 5 amp fuse is pulled.

The line to the desiccant dryer has a check valve, so if that valve is  working correctly, there will not be any pressure at the desiccant dryer.

When you reinstall the desiccant bowl, if the bowl will not go in far enough to install the bowl guard, the o-ring is bad and needs to be  replaced. FOT recently replaced my desiccant. The o-ring was bad and warped inside the bowl housing. It was causing an air leak.  When I attempted to removed the desiccant bowl, it was stuck and very had to remove due to the warped and out of place o-ring.
