The view from the window --- sort of

Couldn't resist posting this.  This is right behind the Manoir de la Peylouse where we stayed last night.  The Motor home is looking out over the River Lyes in Saint Venant France.  We could see it and several others from our bedroom window, so when morning came I went to investigate.  Turns out that there is a park along the river, and that they have 10 RV sites along the river.  It's free, but is dry camping of course, no hookups.  These parks are located all over France, and RVing is very popular.  Amazing how many motor homes we are seeing tucked in beside houses in the country side.  We are doing the "tour de France" driving all the way around France this week and next, and visiting my wife's mother in La Rochelle.  If we had known how popular and accessible the RV thing was in France, we would have rented one for the trip.  Most are class C, or small class A.  Not many over 28' of so, but nice non the less.

That is what we are going to do next time!  There are RV parks everywhere and most farmers will let you stay on their farms for a very small fee, just a few Euros.  Folks just pull up to a lake or a forest, or one of the many state parks and camp, usually no charges involved at all.  Pretty cool.
