Ours is in the "basement" pretty much under the refrigerator.

We like our Dirt Devil very much. It has a very long hose that stores in a small space. Vacuum is powerful. Our connector is in kitchen, with vacuum in basement bay compartment ceiling.

Stump, under the frige normally or close to the hose inlet. The bag is inserted into that rectangular box attached to the motor ^.^d

Well, we fulltime so it was not practical for us plus it vents into the basement bay. We didnt like that. The bags on ours we got from the manufacturer a few years back but are now not available.

There are better solutions ^.^d

Barry, mine does not look like that, much shorter and a galvanized box. Only marking was vac-o-matic. Did dirt devil buy the company or did FT change to a recognized mfg in later years. ::)
I suspect Stumps is similar given the year.

IIRC ours is also shorter than that... perhaps 6" high and venting into our battery compartment. We were never very satisfied with that vacuum and removed it earlier this year. We bought a $200 "Shark" that rests in the closet. But in a decade or so bags for that might become an issue, too.

The vacuum cleaner hose plugs into the socket near the floor beneath the refrigerator. Mine is a "Small Wonder" or something like that. The motor and dust bag are right behind the socket. If you open the door at floor level you'll see the silver metal box in there with the motor on the back of it. Take the top off the silver metal box to change the dust bag. They're still available... and I need to order some so if one of you knows where to get the best deal on the bags now would be a great time to share that information with me... ;D
