I haven't seen these before when I looked, so perhaps they have come out recently with them. Re: VIP Smartwheel Upgrade Reply #33 – June 15, 2019, 04:28:25 pm I had several conversations with an engineer at VIP when I ordered my PC215 smartwheel. I had located a new old stock PC217 online and he told me that the PC215 would be compatible with the SM203 that came in our coach. He also told me that the SM206 was likewise compatible with the PC215 and with wiring harness and steering column that was in our coach. The SM209 and SM210 and later have different connectors and wouldn't work for our 99' U270. Your year coach was, I believe the first year that Foretravel installed the VIP Smartwheels and is likely similar to ours. If that is true, and what the engineer told me is correct, then your coach's IPX Master Wiper Controller is probably an SM203 and your VIP Smartwheel is the BK model which could be upgraded to a PC215. Your IPX Master Wiper Controller is most likely on a pull up board underneath a lift up section in the center of your dash. I your coach is similar to ours, there is enough extra length on wire harnesses connected to the components on the pull up board to be carefully lifted up and laid face up without disconnecting anything. Then you can examine what is there (take pictures!) to verify components. Our coach had the Audit monitor unit, The IPX Master Wiper Controller (the unit which decodes the multiplexed signal from the VIP Smartwheel and controls the cruise, wiper and other functions), and some bosh relays. I think specific components varied between build numbers, as other 99's appear to have the generator auto start control unit on this board, but ours does not. Your milage may vary!
