Storage hooked to 30 amp//inverter ???

When I store my coach I am hooked to 30 amp power.  Everyone indicates that being attached to shore power should keep my house batteries charged. Should the inverter be on or off ???. I always turn off 24 volts at door switch.  What should be left on to charge these house batteries???  Sorry for such a question but I sometimes wonder if the 24 volt system is turned off , how does the house batteries get charged and if the inverter sould be turned off when stored??? ??? ???

Dan, Unless you have a modified system you do not have 24 volts in your FT.  12 V is standard.
Turn the inverter off in storage, less parasitic drain on batteries that way. Battery charger will automatically charge HOUSE batteries.  If you want to charge ENGINE START batteries you will need a trickle charger or a jumper at the isolator. To keep drain off engine start batteries remove cables while in storage.  Some may not recommend this as you have ECU's and other things that may need constant power, varies with different coaches.

We switch the invert portion off when we're in storage, the Prosine still acts as a battery charger, it just won't "invert" to pull power from the batteries to run 120 Vac items if the shore power goes out.  This slows house battery drain if there were to be a shore power issue while in storage.

We flip the 12V switch at the entry door so non-essentials are off.  This doesn't completely shut off the 12V system, but it makes sure things like the lights are off.

And what Gary said ;-)

Gary// Tks for the input.  Shows what I know and think.  Your right what was I thinking 12 volts of course.  Michelle,  you are a doll and I do not know why you are so smart but that is what I thought but seems that as time goes by it pays to recheck old habits.  Lots of working parts in these electrical systems to keep everything on when needed.  What a machine FOT builds. ;D
