Turn signal beeper

I know there is an older thread on this subject but I couldn't find it. I hope someone can help.

Because of a severe hearing loss I never hear my turn signal beeper, so my faithful navigator has to tell me to turn my signal off a lot. Of more concern are the more critical alarms/beepers which I also would probably never hear. I found some made by Novita at Autozone but they are mostly for heavy duty applications but don't appear to be louder, so don't know if they would work. I'm interested in learning what others have done. Any help appreciated.

Years ago when campaigning mini Coopers in rallies we had a problem of missing a problem.  I mounted a surface mount brake light right in front of the driver.  Came on when there was a problem.  Problem solved...or was it?  If it came on at night you could not see where you were going!

Royce, suggest you discuss this with your audiologist. He or she should be able to adjust your hearing aids. I have the same problem, it' worse in my cars than in my coach.

I don't have hearing aids. Tried them but they don't work for me as I have tinnitus. They don't filter the background noise from the desirable sound. Thanks Horace.

Google turn signal louder and there are several good ideas.

Basic idea is to have a separate RadioShack type of beeper added to turn signal flasher

Costco is a GREAT option.
They have an audiologist in many of the stores and my computer records are available in all of them.
I have had to use them in several different locations.

Royce, OK. Another thought. On my 03, the.enunciator has an adjustable opening. Worth a try to see if this is open all the way.
Wonder if anyone here has found a substitute replacement unit that is louder?

Look on Amazon or elsewhere for backup beepers.

Amazon.com: Wolo (BA-97) Pro-Tec Heavy-Duty Back-Up Alarm: Automotive

This one is 97db.  Lots of other choices.  Go to an auto parts store and try them out.

They even have talking ones "Attention! This Vehicle is backing up!"  Maybe they have  ones that say "Your turn signal is on"

I have a Radio Shack turn signal beeper and it is not loud enough.  I also have a back-up beeper and it will blow your ears off.  Gotta be something in the middle for us middle of the road types.  Have a great day  ----  Fritz

+1    I used to get so mad until I realized that turning off my "audible turn signal indicator" was not in my best interest...

+1.  All your important audible alarms should have a corresponding warning light on the instrument panel.

I had to "mute" my beeper due to a malfunction somewhere in the maze of of sensors and wires that feed it signals.  I haven't found the problem, so I am forced to scan my warning lights (a good thing).

How about a door chime like in a house?  It's a lower frequency and a longer duration tone.  Just have to remember it's the the turn signal and not the Avon lady!  😄
