Cruse Control

I have a 1989 Grande Villa with the 3208 Cat and on a trip the cruse control would no disengage until I removed the 10 amp fuse from the fuse block.  Bendix no longer service this cruse control.  Has anyone had a similar problem and if so what did you do to fix the problem?  I am tired of traveling without the cruse control.

Need a little more clarification:

Would not disengage when you turned off the switch?  Stepped on the brake pedal?

Turned off electrically, but throttle stayed well off idle?
