Indirect light fixtures

I am replacing all my florescent lights with supernight led tap light in my 91. I have the living and kitchen area done am am starting down the side hallway towards the back. There is a wood trough that the 3 existing light fixtures sit in Do I need to unscew the whole thing and take it down or does the face come off of it somehow? I can feel screws along the back side going through some angle aluminum Do I need to remove the whole thing in order to access the 3 florescent fixtures.

If it is like my 90',the v shaped lenses pop off allowing you to access the aluminum extrusion that the fixtures are mounted to with pop rivets.  Careful with the thin lite lenses, they are obsolete and no longer available.

John these dont have lenses they are down the hallway in a wooden chase pointing up to give indiret light against the wall the trough is about 6'' below the ceiling

I believe these are unique to the SAI (Side Aisle Island bed) floor plan.  Foretravel installed a small "L" section of wood in the corner where the ceiling and the wall meet with a gap at the top.  Most floor plans have cabinets where walls and ceiling meet but with a side aisle you need the head room.  Inside the "L" are  fluorescent lights that face up and reflect light on the ceiling.  The only way to see the bulbs is with a small mirror.

I've never had to mess with mine but I believe if you use a small mirror you can see the screws that fasten the lights as well as the wood "L" section to the wall with metal brackets.  I'm anticipating doing the same thing soon.

John I came up with a alternative idea. The light fixtures are so hard to access I am leaving them alone. I removed the existing bulbs and am going to use the fixtures to hold the new LED strip lights. I am mounting the light strips on some aluminum I cut to length and it will lay in on the existing fixtures where the bulbs were. I'll post pictures when I get finished hopefully next weekend. Time to go move some freight and make some more fun tickets!!

Sounds like your fixtures are different than mine, but I did the same thing.  I used the existing fixture to house the new LED light bars.  Be sure to use LED's with constant current regulators built in to insure long life--- LED's don't like unregulated input voltage such as alternator charged batteries.  The constant current regulators solve that problem.
