Banks

Just home last night after covering 1050 miles in 3 days straight up I-5 to Portland and then east to home. An earlier owner (probably the Browns) had a Banks Stinger installed and I have to say that the performance of the U225 over this trip (barring a starting issue and a broken injector connector) was simply amazing.

We don't race up 7% hills at 70mph but we do manage to pass trucks on them and only had 3 or 4 pass us. Last night, on the I-82 grade between Umatilla, OR and Kennewick, WA we were climbing the early grade at 65mph but slowed to 50mph at the end.

Fuel mpg was 10.17mpg overall. I am pretty sure that a stock Cummins 5.9 pushing the U225 would not do as well. Especially with a toad.

Not too shabby.

That's a sweet little Cummins with the Banks kit.  My uncle in law (?) stopped by the other day.  He bought a new truck to pull his fiver, averaging six mpg.  Ouch.  The truck is rated for a massive towing capacity but obviously overworked.  I evaded his question of what kind of fuel mileage I got on the coach, didn't want to depress him.
