Intellitec Relays

I'm kind of intending this post to go into the archives so that people can find it later.  Unless someone needs one of these relays now...

We had a relay fail in our intellitec multiplex switching system, which I know isn't that common.  I took a look inside and found Fujitsu FBR512ND12-W relays.  These relays were discontinued in 2010.  After hours of searching I've come up with no sources worldwide for these relays.  These relays happen to be used in the central locking unit of an MG car.  That person seems to have cross referenced the part with the Durakool DG08-7011-35-1012. 

These relays are pretty odd, there are actually 2 relays per housing.  It looks like Intellitec did their best to save space while not using any SMT components.  The relays are also a high quality part so the failure is surprising.  If anyone has any failed relays, let me know.  I am thinking I will order like 5 or so, but I only need one.  I'll keep stock until I run out so if you find this post years later, get in touch.

If anyone has some of these relays, please let me know, you can save me on the international shipping.

These relays came in all the way from the UK so I took a moment to take care of the problem.  I was waiting on a video to render anyway...

We smelled electrical burning odor.  I quickly determined it was coming from under the fridge.  I found the bit of melting plastic shown in DPP_2641.  I pulled the fuse and our bathroom light turned off.  Stink gradually dissipated.  When I took everything apart I found that the whole trace was a bit browned.  I originally thought the fuse holder was loose and was causing heating but when I put a new fuse in I found the bathroom light no longer worked which meant the relay was damaged.  The relays are impossible to find so I ordered 4.  They are a combo relay.  I could easily just buy some random relay and solder wires to the points but I kind of wanted to repair it properly. 

You can see in the picture the old white relay is burned up a bit.

The patents on this are long expired so I am probably going to play with this system.  Looking at iphone/android remote control as well as interfacing to Insteon switches.  Then i'll be able to do stuff like turn on and off xmas lights with the porch light switch or other bits.

If anyone has one of these systems and a certain output stops working, I can repair them for you.
